These observed dates are Italian National Bank Holidays where everything is closed.   Each Abruzzo town/city is in addition likely to have a holiday/feast day on their particular Saint Day, for example in Bascianella, this is June 29th which is Saint Peter’s Day.  A lot of these ‘feast days’ luckily coincide with the month of August!

01 January – New Year’s Day (Capodanno)

25  April – Easter Monday (2011)  & Liberation Day(Festa della Liberazione)  – do expect everything to be closed

01 May – Labour Day/May Day (Festa dei Lavoratori)

02 June – Republic Day (Festa della Repubblica)

15 August  – Assumption Day (Assunzione)

01 November – All Saints’ Day (Tutti i santi)
