These observed dates are Italian National Bank Holidays where everything is closed.   Each Abruzzo town/city is in addition likely to have a holiday/feast day on their particular Saint Day, for example in Bascianella, this is June 29th which is Saint Peter’s Day.  A lot of these ‘feast days’ luckily coincide with the month of August!

April
25  April – Easter Monday (2011)  & Liberation Day(Festa della Liberazione)  – do expect everything to be closed

May
01 May – Labour Day/May Day (Festa dei Lavoratori)

June
02 June – Republic Day (Festa della Repubblica)

August
15 August  – Assumption Day (Assunzione)

November
01 November – All Saints’ Day (Tutti i santi)

December
08 December – Immaculate Conception Day (Immacolata Concezione)
25 December – Christmas Day (Natale)
26 December – St Stephen’s Day (Santo Stefano)
