The 2009 L’Aquila Earthquake

On 6th April 2009, a 6.3 magnitude earthquake struck L’Aquila in the early hours of the morning, devastating Abruzzo’s regional capital, its surrounding villages, and killing 309 people. More than fifteen years on, the story is not over.
