Abruzzo Pop-up E-Bike Ride: Lago di Barrea

Join us for a fabulous panoramic e-bike ride with Wildlife Adventures at Lago di Barrea in the middle of the Abruzzo, Molise and Lazio National Park on, Saturday 28th May.

The famous team that instructs Rewilding Guides across Europe will take us on a fabulous ride around this jewel of a lake, and weave through the famous medieval towns of Barrea, Civitella Alfedena and Villetta Barrea.

An e-bike is ideal to take paths that normally would not be doable by everyone, and enjoying the road, the landscape and nature.  Instruction on how to use an e-bike will be given briefly to everyone before beginning.  Helmets and bikes are included in the price.

A Cheese Tasting on Route

We will stop off at the Wolf Centre and for a cheese tasting session at La Grancia di Sant Angelo, which is owned by Claudio di Domenico.  He farms the heritage breed, Pezzata Rossa, the breed that was originally used to create Parmigiano Reggiano.  The farm is bio-organic and the cows eat a rich diet of organic fodder and GMO-free feed. His award-winning caciocavallo is produced all year round are famous. Also noteworthy is the caciocavallo created with goat rennet, Monte Greco cheese, fiori di latte, fresh, scamorza and various types of fresh, salted ricotta with herbs.
