Ciao Abruzzo offers truffle tours, cooking classes, and one-day trips through the heart of Abruzzo for anyone who loves good food and adventure. We’re Ezio and Marie, and every summer we come back from Rhode Island to Ezio’s family home in Prezza, a medieval village near Sulmona.
We keep our groups small and make every day hands-on, just like spending the day with a local friend who knows all the best spots.
Here’s what you can do with us
- Truffle hunting: Join a local hunter and his dogs near Roccascalegna, then enjoy a truffle lunch made from what you found that morning.
- Cooking classes: Get hands-on making handmade chitarra and other Abruzzese favourites, with classes in Sulmona and Prezza.
- One-day excursions: Spend a full day exploring Sulmona, visit the medieval mountain village of Scanno and its heart-shaped lake through the Sagittario gorge, or relax by the Adriatic coast at the Costa dei Trabocchi.

A newly restored modern apartment with all mod cons is just 10 minutes from the A25 Autostrada.
Conveniently located in the medieval village of Prezza, nicknamed the ‘Balcony of Abruzzo’ by Harpers Bazaar and famous for its May artichoke festa. The apartment is a light, open-plan, airy space with a well-equipped kitchen and a sofa bed for guests with children, centrally heated and air-conditioned. There is a modern bathroom with a shower cubicle, Wi-Fi, and free US TV channels.
