Join us and Forager in Italy’s Marta Udalowa who is leading a foraging scavenger hunt and walk at Fonte della Noce, 1028 metres above sea level close to Lettopalena (CH).  Afterwards, she will provide a 3-course picnic lunch at the tranquil picnic area which has incredible views of the  Maiella.

Life in Abruzzo  Sunday Pop-ups allows everyone to dip in according to their budget and how social they are feeling.  Each Sunday event has been organised by a local guide to allow people to join who would just like a coffee, cake and chat in a stunning part of Abruzzo as well as exploring the area with the guide.

On this Sunday, Marta will show us some of the spring edibles that can be foraged and provide a multi-course picnic lunch in this beautifully maintained area by the local Lettopalena comune.

Sunday 10th April 2022

• Arrive at 10.00 at the Fonte della Noce Refuge for coffee, cake and chat.  This is open to everyone including those that don’t want to take part in Marta’s walk.
• 11.00 Marta begins her springtime scavenger hunt that will help you identify wild edibles that you can easily search out at home and use in cooking, liqueurs and remedies. Beyond the joy of finding your own food, it is a great way of minimising your weekly food bill in cost and food km.  It is possible to make local eating interesting whilst protecting our fragile environment.
• 13.00 A tasting picnic lunch created by Marta to show off the best of the Maiella’s rich spring flavours.
• What to Expect from the Landscape?

Meadows, a crawfish filled stream, a pool, plenty of Black Poplar and Beech trees and of course fantastic mountain views sweeping across this part of Chieti.

The price includes unlimited wine with lunch, and coffee and cake is included for those taking part in the Foraging Excursion and payment to the local comune for using the picnic area.
