About Collecorvino
Collecorvino is a foothill town that remains vibrant. Unlike many hill towns that have become quieter, this one still has a post office, hardware shop, bakery, butcher, and grocery, plus several cafes, bars, and restaurants, all within a ten-minute walk. The Piccolo Bar, visible from the terrace, is a favourite spot for coffee and wine. Every Tuesday, a market near the post office offers fresh fruit, vegetables, and fish, as well as stalls selling clothes and household goods. This is a real, lived-in town, not just a tourist attraction, which is important when choosing a place to live.
The villa is located at the end of a quiet, private road, but still benefits from reliable postal service and daily trash collection. The entrance features a large gated front garden with plenty of parking and mature fruit trees, giving you the chance to design the landscaping as you like. The driveway leads to a spacious 40-square-metre double garage with an up-and-over door.
The house has two floors, each about 150 square metres. Upstairs, there are three bedrooms, including one with a balcony overlooking the town and mountains, perfect for morning coffee. There are two spacious bathrooms with showers, and a long hallway with stairs to the ground floor. The kitchen is fully equipped with a fridge, oven, hob, air fryer, and freezer, and opens into a bright lounge and dining area. Double doors lead to a wrap-around terrace with views stretching across both mountain ranges, from the Maiella to the Corno Grande, and the Gran Sasso. Snow often remains on the peaks into June, creating a beautiful scene. This floor has gas central heating you can control, and a large open fireplace for winter, with a local company available to deliver wood.
Downstairs, there is a fourth bedroom with a double bed and another bathroom with a shower and washing machine. You will also find an indoor pizza oven, a large storage room, a practical office space, and a double garage. The back door opens to a washing line, an outdoor sink and tap, and the private above-ground pool, where you can swim while enjoying the mountain views. Under the pool, a large water storage tank is supplied by a pump.
Land
The property and garden cover 5,000 square metres, and the house itself 300 square metres. Behind the house, fruit trees provide lemons, oranges, pomegranates, peaches, and cherries. Beyond these, over sixty olive trees are cared for by a local farmer, who supplies you with fresh olive oil made from your own trees. This is as close as most people get to living off their own land.
Utilities
All the practical details are taken care of. The house has electricity, gas, mains water, and a large underground septic tank. Upstairs windows and patio doors have mosquito blinds. The internet is easy to set up, and the current owners use Starlink. There is also a bus service to Penne and Pescara from the end of the road. Energy certificate F.
For daily needs, a ten-minute drive takes you to a supermarket, bank, hairdressers, gym, clothing stores, pet shop, newsagent, and more. Pescara airport is only 30 minutes away, and Rome is about two and a half hours by car. Both the beach and the mountains, where you can ski in winter, are around forty minutes away.
This is a true move-in-ready home in a town that isn’t quietening or thinning. Come and see it for yourself.
