3 Archaeology Day – Forcona

Saturday 5 November 2022 @ 09:30 - 13:30 CET

The ABAP Superintendency in the provinces of L’Aquila and Teramo are hosting two archaeology events on Saturday 5 November!

In the morning you are invited to discover the monumental remains of Forcona, Civita di Bagno that date back to the second-century bc, between 9.30 to 13.30. No registration is required and entrance is free.

Forcona has been excavated since 1995: the substructures give the building a monumental appearance, while the row of rooms organised around the garden and the large circular basin for the collection of water open questions but which still remain unresolved regarding their function.

From the terrace, you can enjoy a panoramic view over the middle Aterno Valley, while the Gran Sasso acts as a spectacular scenic backdrop.
