Are you  aged between 18-40 and would relish the idea of moving to Santo Stefano di Sessanio for 5 years to help turn it into a dynamic sustainable community that is not just a weekend tourist attraction.  You will be given a monthly grant for three years up to a maximum of 8 thousand euros per year, a house for symbolic rent and a one-off grant, up to a maximum of 20 thousand euros to start a business.

Businesses & Jobs the Comune Need

This ‘young person’s offer is aimed at all non-resident Italians, EU citizens, or citizens of third countries in possession of an EU long-term residence permit issued for an indefinite period.  In exchange for becoming a residents for a minimum period of 5 years, they would help you start an entrepreneurial activity among those identified as essential by the comune.  These include guides (tourist, sports/cultural),  cleaners,  maintenance men/women, drugstore  and shop operators, revival and farming of local products and their marketing. If you are an Italian you will only be eligible if your current comune has no less than 2000 residents!

The administration explained ” Despite the fame of the Sextantio hotel  and the love of tourists for our Medici village we do not have the human capital necessary for a sustainable and lasting development of the territory.  Our  residents currently total only 115, almost half are over 65 and only 13 are under 20 hence our drive to attract young entrepreneurial youngsters!
