Poggio Umbricchio – Tuber Magnatum – White Truffle Festival
30 October - 1 November

The Tuber Magnatum white truffle festival is located high in the Gran Sasso Mountains in the small medieval town of Poggio Umbricchio. It was once part of the world’s smallest republic Senarica and was aligned to Venice.
Expect lots of yummy truffle stalls with a diverse range of white and black truffles, with plenty of tasting! A varied truffle menu, chestnuts, mulled wine and music. We will publish this year’s menu as soon as it is available.
Some sagra make out-of-reach ingredients possible to taste, especially when it’s white truffle, which currently costs €600 per 100g! A white truffle in a risotto in a restaurant could cost you looking at €50!

It’s organised by local truffle hunter Enzo, head of the Pro Loco Poggio Umbricchio whose love of cooking, food and wine ensures that the food served on the day is tempting and delicious. Do come and see a truffle community coming together in this little village with incredible views of the Gran Sasso!
Did you know it’s not just boars but porcupines too that are partial to a truffle or two!
