19th Transumanza Tratturo Magno Walk : L’Aquila to Foggia
Sunday 28 September 2025 - Wednesday 8 October 2025
Free
It is with great pleasure that we invite you to the 19th edition of the Transumanza re-enactment walk along the Tratturo Magno the entire route from L’Aquila to Foggia this year.
As every year, our Autumn walk will start on September 29 at 8:30 a.m. from the square in front of the Basilica of Collemaggio (L’Aquila). It will arrive in Foggia (Puglia) on October 8. The walk will be divided into 10 stages for a total of over 244 km.
There is no registration fee to join the walk. You can participate in the entire walk, or in one or more stages of the route.
As announced, this 19th edition will begin on September 28 with the screening of Roberto Zazzara’s film Transumanza, which will be held at the CAI headquarters in L’Aquila at Via Sassa n. 34 at 6:00 p.m.

This year, we are pleased to announce the start of our collaboration with Slow Food Italia, which has provided free sponsorship for the initiative. We hope that this is only the beginning of a long and fruitful collaboration for the sustainable development of the inland areas crossed by the Tratturo Magno.
From the wild nature of L’Aquila, to the magnificent hills of Pescara and Chieti, to the vineyards of Frentano, to the unspoiled coasts of Vasto, and then back again, slowly and steadily caressing the sinuous lines of the Molise hills and finally arriving at the mosaic of ploughed fields of the Tavoliere della Puglia.
Tracturo 3000 would like to thank all the shepherds, walkers, and enthusiasts of pastoral culture, transhumance, and the Tratturo Magno who will be participating in the event, as well as the numerous municipalities, local tourist boards, and cultural associations that will be collaborating on the 19th edition of this walk.
For registration and further information, please write to tracturo300@gmail.com or send a WhatsApp message to +393339065364.
We look forward to seeing you on September 28 at the CAI headquarters in L’Aquila for the screening of the film Transumanza, and on September 29 at 8:30 a.m. in the square in front of the Basilica of Collemaggio to walk together along the Tratturo Magno, so that it can once again become a resource for everyone to enjoy all year round!
TOGETHER, TOWARDS A MORE SUSTAINABLE FUTURE TO BE REDISCOVERED ON FOOT.
Have a good walk!
