Journey Back in Time: Explore Amiternum’s Ancient Treasures with the Free Shuttle Bus!

Are you ready to step back in time and immerse yourself in the rich history of Amiternum? Whether you’re a history enthusiast or simply curious about ancient civilisations, this summer offers an incredible opportunity to explore the Sabine capital, Amiternum, and its fascinating ruins that were inhabited until the 5th century. Even if you don’t own a car, worry not! A free shuttle bus service has been arranged from L’Aquila, making it convenient for everyone to embark on this unforgettable excursion.

Starting from August 1st, the shuttle will depart every hour from Collemaggio Terminal, ensuring a seamless and hassle-free trip.

On Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays, the shuttle will be available at 8.15 AM, 9.15 AM, 10.15 AM, 11.15 AM, and 12.15 PM. Tuesdays and Fridays have a separate schedule with departure times at 2.15 PM, 3.15 PM, 4.15 PM, 5.15 PM, and 6.15 PM.

As you set off towards Amiternum, the shuttle will make stops at Fontana Luminosa and the Fontana delle 99, both located along state road 80 near the My Suite hotel. Once you arrive at Amiternum, prepare to be mesmerised by the well-preserved Roman theatre and amphitheatre, two key remnants of the city’s illustrious past. The shuttle has been thoughtfully planned to allow ample time for exploration and discovery at each location, ensuring you don’t miss any hidden gems.

Whether you’re an architecture enthusiast, a history buff, or simply looking for a day of adventure, Amiternum has something extraordinary to offer. Walk in the footsteps of ancient civilisations, admire the grandeur of the Roman ruins, and soak in the aura of a bygone era.
