Icons of Beauty George Clooney & Abruzzo in The American

the-americanFancy a chance to watch two legendary hunks of rugged gorgeousness, George Clooney & Abruzzo,  in action together three times?? You can now, via the trailers for The American, George Clooney’s most recent film in which he plays an assassin, largely filmed on location in Abruzzo, from the city of Sulmona up to the magical town of Santo Stefano  de Sessanio.  One of our friends who recently came to stay had a luxury break at Sextantio Albergo Diffuso was ecstatic to be told she had slept in the same bed George’s – mad but true as they say!

The film highlights Italy’s most beautiful untouched landscape, and Abruzzo was chosen not just for its good looks but as a means of helping to profile a stunning area that had suffered and continues to suffer from the earthquake in 2009.  These trailers are courtesy of our friend Eleonora, Continuity Editor for the film, but also famous separately for her food blog, ‘Aglio, Olio & Peperoncino ‘.  The trailers include footage featuring a little more info about Director Anton Corbijn, who so kindly helped us on our campaign “no oil in Abruzzo”, watch out for the photographs he took on set.
