Tossicia: Il Fuoco di Sant’Antonio

The people of Tossicia gather to celebrate and relight the village’s glorious fire to celebrate San Antonio d’Abate. The construction of the fire is a marvel in itself!
Get there early at 18.00 to see the priest blessing an assorted collection of animals that residents bring, sheep, chickens young puppies to name a few. The fire is lit at 20.00 which in itself is an experience! Read our review here.
Expect to drink plenty of mulled wine, delight in some of the finest sausages we have eaten in Abruzzo made by the local butcher (his recipe for Fegato sausages here), and of course an assortment of live music.
