Tossicia: Il Fuoco di Sant’Antonio

Tossicia rekindles its glorious fire to celebrate San Antonio d’Abate after a 2 year break due to the pandemic. The construction of the fire is a marvel in itself!
Get there early and see the priest blessing an assorted collection of animals that local residents bring, sheep, chickens, new puppies to name a few. The fire is lit at 20.00 which in itself is an experience! Read our review here.
Expect to drink plenty of mulled wine, delight in some of the finest sausages that we have eaten in Abruzzo made by the local butcher (his recipe for Fegato sausages here), and of course an assortment of live music.
We will do our best to keep this calendar up to date, however in the case of last-minute cancellations due to adverse weather conditions, Covid outbreaks and so forth this may not always be possible. In these cases, you should contact the event organiser for a refund as we are not responsible for the events on the calendar, only compiling them into an easy list. As soon as we have news from an organiser when any event will be rescheduled we will update the calendar accordingly.
