Opi: Fiaccolata, Polentata e Vin Brule’
Saturday 7 January 2023 @ 19:00 - 23:00 CET

The small community of Opi dress up in traditional clothes at dusk and with hand-held flickering torches feast and light up the night the day after Epiphany. First, they sip hot chocolate, feast on polenta, and mulled wine and then neighbours and friends and family walk together and 21.00 to banish the dark and cold with a torch-lit procession around the town.
Opi is located 1250 metres above sea level within the Abruzzo, Molise and Lazio National Park, set in a natural amphitheatre of imposing mountains full of beach woods with plenty of old mule tracks to explore. Its name services from the Roman fertility goddess Ops, meaning plenty.
