Cermignano: Lu Sand’Andonje

“Lu Sand’Andonje” returns to Cermignano, a great winter festival dedicated to the cult of one of the most beloved saints of Abruzzo, Sant’Antonio Abate. It’s a tradition that includes cultural begging songs and rites linked to the cult of the patron saint of animals and farmers and to mirror this itinerant folk groups, musicians and actors will recall the temptations of the hermit and the eternal struggle between good and evil, with songs, dances, joy and good gastronomy in the streets of the village, starting at 6.00 pm.
To complete the programme, the exhibition of painted carts bearing the effigy of the saint, a photograhy exhibition, and the characteristic traditional dessert, “Li cillitte“, which can be tasted accompanied by vino cotto and typical local wines.
Over the three days, menus based on the typical products of the rural community and farming tradition will be offered”.
