Abruzzo is one Europe’s greenest regions with 37 nature reserves and parks that cover 30% of this region of central Italy.
This wild and untouched area of Italy has recently attracted the attention of the oil and gas giants in their quest for oil incomes generated outside the members of OPEC. Both the Abruzzo coastline with its fish & bird reserves as well as its national parks and agricultural, fishing, tourism industries are all under threat.
