Casa Majella is a cosy country-style family house in Serramonacesca (Pescara) available for holiday rental, just 5 minutes from the historic Abbey of San Liberatore…your gateway to the Majella National Park and just a 40-minute drive to the Adriatic Sea and Pescara Airport.
It was the much-loved ancestral home of the family of origin of the owner’s mother, which Francesca has newly restored. It makes an excellent base for excursions in Majella National Park (trekking/hiking/mountain biking/climbing), or simply taking a walk along the ‘tratturo’, an ancient sheep track that runs alongside the house or nearby trails. For those that enjoy the coast and Adriatic beaches of Abruzzo, they are just a short drive away, just like the nearest slopes in wintertime. After a day of intense nature-based adventures, this peaceful, comfy family house is the perfect spot to rest and unwind, as evening approaches.
The house has 2 airy double bedrooms each with an additional bed and cot, a study, a living room with fireplace and an eat-in kitchen both connecting and with access to a large veranda, a spacious terrace overlooking the valley, 2 bathrooms with bidet and shower, barbecue, lawn and olive grove.
An assortment of much-loved board and role-playing games are available plus a range of lovely multilingual (English, French, Italian, Spanish, German) books to relax with.

Francesca was born and raised here in Abruzzo, where she lives in Pescara, but a big chunk of her heart and roots are in Serramonacesca, the village of her mother's family of origin. Because of this ancestral connection she's been very excited renovating her family's country house and becoming a host, just like she used to dream of and play pretend to do as a child. She is a multi-material artist and narrative jeweler, wonderdrifter and storyteller. She believes in the power of art and play as key to life. She can't wait to meet you and have you as her guests at Casa Majella, for the most restorative of holidays!
