The Corno Grande itself (2,912 masl and the highest mountain in Italy) looks down onto the village like a stoic custodian. It is the first thing that you look upon when waking up in Bascianella. The mountains acts as an early warning system of what the weather will be like for the day.

The panorama is breathtaking as the mountain air is pure and fresh. Although ‘treated’ you will never taste ‘tap water’ so sweet or as un-chlorinated as what we are lucky enough to drink direct from the mountains of Abruzzo – great for helping to cut down on the number of plastic bottles in such an important green area for Europe as a whole.
